Effective July 1, 2018: The government has issued 6% sales tax on all pet related industries (vets, groomers, boarding and daycare facilities, trainers, etc.). As a result, we will be required to charge 6% sales tax on all of our services according to (KRS 139.200). If you have any questions regarding this update, please contact our office at 270.904.3591. We appreciate your business and your cooperation/patience during this transition.
Vaccine Policy #1
Effective 07/08/2016: Please be sure and ask specifically for theINTRANASAL Bordetellawhen having your pet's vaccines updated every 6 months. Sometimes vet offices will carry all 3 types of the kennel cough vaccine (oral, intranasal and injectible). Due to the number of coughing cases that were seen at the vet offices that do not give the intranasal vaccine, versus the very low number of clients seen by the others, we are forced to require only the intranasal vaccine for the added parainfluenza protection that it has proven to provide. We have made this decision because we have the best interest of all the fur babies in mind and want them all to be as healthy as possible. In our experience, this vaccine made a tremendous difference in the immunity of the recent Parainfluenza outbreak that occurred in Bowling Green this past summer. *Just a reminder that all vaccines must be given at least 2 weeks prior to date of check in to allow adequate amount of time to build up immunity provided by the vaccines.
Vaccine Policy #2
Effective 07/19/2017: All guests must have the Bi-Valent Flu vaccine prior to any services. There is a difference in the monovalent which only protects against one strain of the canine flu. We want all of our babies to be as protected as possible and if there is a vaccine out there that covers both strains, we feel it is necessary to require that version. Most all of our local veteranarians carry this version, but be sure and ask just in case. If this is the very first time your dog is having the vaccine administered, there is a booster required by the vet 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccine. Each year after that, the flu vaccine just becomes part of your annual check up. Because this is a newer requirement for our area and our facility, we are giving everyone a grace period to have the boosters given. Any dog that comes to our facility after June 30th, 2017 must have at least had the 1st bivalent flu vaccine. We can still board your baby while he/she is waiting to get the booster as long as it is given no later than August 1st, 2017. Please call us if you have any questions!
